What can you do for you?

I sent this to one of my athletes recently in a follow up and it got me thinking . . .

For those out there struggling to make progress in any piece of this thing we care so much about — just stay the course. Obviously there’s some wherewithall you need to be able to rely on from your coach(es), but it all starts with you. The words below from my email to the athlete mentioned above say exactly that.

“Let me know if I can do anything to get you here more. We know we have the secret to making life better and making you a better you, but we can’t do it without you!”

We will do anything we can on our end to put our community in positions to succeed. The fact of the matter is, though, that is not the starting point and is a mute point if we don’t have the building blocks to begin with. We need you around, focused, and committed.

Now, I don’t always send things like that because folks aren’t around, focused, and committed. Sometimes those follow-ups are necessary as reminders that you have a group of like-minded people in your life that care. If you’re in a place where you think it’s all on you . . . you’re dead wrong. You have at least one community in this world supporting you and they won’t give up.

Simply get your butt in action, give your full heart to it, and the rest will be taken care of.
